Amazing Trump Speech to United Nations

One of the best speeches I’ve ever heard. It’s about 34 minutes long and so worth it.

https://www.onenewspage.com/video/20180926/10832856/President-Trump-Full-Speech-To-UN-2018.htm

God bless and protect our President, Vice President and their families.

Here’s one very short part of the speech. I can’t guarantee this is a direct quote (my shorthand suffers) but it is very close to exact – thus I felt the need for the quotes.

“The United States believes in majesty of freedom, dignity of the individual, self government, the rule of law, a culture that sustains liberty, strong family, and deep faith. We support fierce independence, celebrate our heroes, and love our country.” President Donald Trump 9-26-18 to the United Nations at the General Assembly

Our Grandparents’ Immigration Values

To the editors of a California newspaper in response to an article written by Ernie Lujan who suggests we should tear down the Statue of Liberty because the immigrants of today aren’t being treated the same as those who passed through Ellis Island and other ports of entry. The paper never printed this response, so her husband sent it out via internet.

Maybe we should turn to our history books and point out to people like Mr. Lujan why today’s American is not willing to accept this new kind of immigrant any longer. Back in 1900 when there was a rush from all areas of Europe to come to the United States, people had to get off a ship and stand in a long line in New York and be documented.

Some would even get down on their hands and knees and kiss the ground. They made a pledge to uphold the laws and support their new country in good and bad times. They made learning English a primary rule in their new American households and some even changed their names to blend in with their new home.

They had waved goodbye to their birth place to give their children a new life and did everything in their power to help their children assimilate into one culture. Nothing was handed to them. No free lunches, no welfare, no labor laws to protect them. All they had were the skills and craftsmanship they had brought with them to trade for a future of prosperity.

Most of their children came of age when World War II broke out. My father fought alongside men whose parents had come straight over from Germany, Italy, France and Japan.  None of these 1st generation Americans ever gave any thought about what country their parents had come from. They were Americans fighting Hitler, Mussolini and the Emperor of Japan. They were defending the United States of America as one people.

When we liberated France, no one in those villages were looking for the French American, the German American or the Irish American. The people of France saw only Americans. And we carried one flag that represented one country. Not one of those immigrant sons would have thought about picking up another country’s flag and waving it to represent who they were. It would have been a disgrace to their parents who had sacrificed so much to be here. These immigrants truly knew what it meant to be an American. They stirred the melting pot into one red, white and blue bowl.

And here we are with a new kind of immigrant who wants the same rights and privileges. Only they want to achieve it by playing with a different set of rules; one that includes the entitlement card and a guarantee of being faithful to their mother country.

I’m sorry, that’s not what being an American is all about. I believe that the immigrants who landed on Ellis Island in the early 1900’s deserve better than that for all the toil, hard work and sacrifice in raising future generations to create a land that has become a beacon for those legally searching for a better life. I think they would be appalled that they are being used as an example by those waving foreign country flags.

And for that suggestion about taking down the Statue of Liberty, it happens to mean a lot to the citizens who are voting on the immigration bill. I wouldn’t start talking about dismantling the United States just yet.

California Considering a “Texting Tax”

From USA Today:

California’s Public Utilities Commission is considering a plan that would charge mobile phone users a fee for sending text messages, according to recent public law filings.

The proposal is partially due to landline-era legislation coupled with the fact the people are shifting patterns away from voice calls in favor of texting.

California is determining whether surcharges and user fees on text messaging comply with Public Purpose Programs, which use tax revenue to make telecommunications services accessible to low-income residents. The programs, which date to the 1930s, were given a face-lift in the late 1990s, allowing individual states to impose requirements to preserve what’s referred to as a “universal service.”

ID’s Required to Vote in Mexico…So Why Not Here?

Those voting cards are government-issued photo IDs, credentials that citizens are required to produce at polling stations in order to vote in federal elections in Mexico.

The United States has no equivalent national voter requirements or voter ID card. However, some states require voters to produce photo IDs in order to vote, while others don’t.   Don’t believe us? Ask Snopes.

Why We Need the Electoral College

*In their infinite wisdom, the United States’ Founders created the
Electoral College to ensure the STATES were fairly represented. Why should
one or two densely populated areas speak for the whole of the nation?*

*The following list of statistics has been making the rounds on the
Internet. It should finally put an end to the argument as to why the
Electoral College makes sense.*

*Do share this. It needs to be widely known and understood.*

*There are 3,141 counties in the United States.*

*Trump won 3,084 of them.*

*Clinton won 57.*

*There are 62 counties in New York State.*

*Trump won 46 of them.*

*Clinton won 16.*

*Clinton won the popular vote by approx. 1.5 million votes.*

*In the 5 counties that encompass NYC, (Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan,
Richmond & Queens) Clinton received well over 2 million more votes than
Trump. (Clinton only won 4 of these counties; Trump won Richmond)*

*Therefore these 5 counties alone, more than accounted for Clinton winning
the popular vote of the entire country.*

*These 5 counties comprise 319 square miles.*

*The United States is comprised of 3,797,000 square miles.*

*When you have a country that encompasses almost 4 million square miles of
territory, it would be ludicrous to even suggest that the vote of those who
inhabit a mere 319 square miles should dictate the outcome of a national
election.*

*Large, densely populated Democrat cities (NYC, Chicago, LA, etc.) DO NOT
and SHOULD NOT speak for the rest of our country!*

*And…it’s been verified and documented that those aforementioned 319
square miles are where the majority of our nation’s problems foment.*

A busy day at the White House

Now 629 days since his Inauguration, President Trump continues to fight hard for the American people day in and day out. To give you an inside look at just one day’s schedule at the White House:

  • Common sense reform for our music industry: President Trump signed long-awaited legislation this morning to fix outdated American music laws. The Orrin G. Hatch–Bob Goodlatte Music Modernization Act has gained widespread support throughout the industry, expected to benefit songwriters, artists, and fans alike. Through a simplified licensing system, songwriters will finally be paid the royalties they deserve. Watch today’s signing ceremony.
  • The Save our Seas Act of 2018: Each year, countries the world over are responsible for dumping more than 8 million tons of garbage into our oceans. This trash and debris is not only harmful to the world’s marine life—it disrupts our fishermen and coastal economies, as well. President Trump signed legislation today to reauthorize and strengthen the Marine Debris Program.
  • Ending the scourge of human trafficking: The Trump Administration is fighting to end the scourge of human trafficking, also known as modern-day slavery. Today, the President met with his Interagency Task Force to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons (PITF), a Cabinet-level entity consisting of 15 departments and agencies. The Administration is taking the fight to all fronts, and the results are piling up: Last year, the Department of Justice secured convictions against nearly 500 defendants, and the FBI dismantled 42 criminal enterprises engaged in child sex trafficking. Learn more about President Trump’s fight to end this horrific practice.
  • Unprecedented access to journalists: “President Trump, already the most media-accessible president in memory, is talking to journalists almost nonstop as his successes pile up ahead of the midterm elections,” Dave Boyer of The Washington Times writes. See excerpts from the President’s phone interview this morning with Fox & Friends.

To all of our first responders: ‘Thank you!’

As President Donald J. Trump visits the Carolinas today, nearly 20,000 Federal employees have been mobilized to help restore power, rescue stranded victims, and assist in all aspects of the recovery following Hurricane Florence.

The numbers behind the Federal response:

  • More than 2,000 rescues and nearly 15,000 individuals sheltered by FEMA
  • Some 6,000 active-duty personnel and 7,000 National Guardsmen on scene
  • At least 400 lives—and 200 pets—saved by the U.S. Coast Guard
  • More than 100 priority sites beginning to be assessed by the EPA
  • 40,000 individuals working with the Department of Energy to restore power
  • 535 rescue-and-evacuation missions and counting performed or supported by the National Guard in North Carolina

The President delivered a, clear message during his visit to affected communities today: “The Federal Government is behind you.” He thanked state leaders, first responders, and local officials for working around the clock to help all victims get the assistance they need. “Whatever we need from Washington, we are there.”

The widespread devastation of this storm demands a Government-wide response, and that is what the Trump Administration has worked to deliver. The Department of Veterans Affairs is moving to open facilities that were closed by the storm, and the Small Business Administration has announced assistance for homeowners, renters, and businesses of all sizes in addition to opening a business recovery center.

Learn how the Trump Administration is supporting the Florence recovery effort.

Alfredo Ortiz: Hispanics Flourishing in Trump Economy

“President Trump’s economy is the rising tide that is lifting all boats. This is especially true for Hispanics, who were among the biggest victims of the low-growth, high-regulation economy under President Obama,” Job Creators Network CEO Alfredo Ortiz writes in The Hill.

“Last week, the Census Bureau announced new household income numbers, which showed that median income for Hispanic households grew by 3.7 percent, adjusted for inflation, last year. That’s more than double the increase seen by all households . . . That’s welcome news as the nation celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month.”

Army Veteran’s Apparel Line Counters Nike-Kaepernick Campaign with ‘Just Stand’ Shirt

Originally Published on Fox News

An Army veteran called out Nike Saturday on Fox & Friends for featuring Colin Kaepernick at the center of the company’s “Just Do It” campaign.

Tyler Merritt’s company, Nine Line Apparel, has countered Nike by releasing a shirt of its own that reads “Just Stand.”

Merritt, a former Army captain and Nine Line’s CEO, said Saturday, “They decided to take a stance. This is our stand.”

Nike recently announced a multi-year agreement with Kaepernick, including for his own apparel line, video ads and billboards featuring his image, and a contribution to the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback’s Know Your Rights charity.

The company drew immediate backlash after releasing a print ad that stated, “Believe in something, even if it means sacrificing everything.”

Merritt said Saturday that it’s hard to make a parallel between an athlete’s sacrifice and a soldier’s.

“The word ‘sacrifice’ in the military members, it’s something severe,” he said.

He said that Nike’s move to feature a controversial figure like Kaepernick was done with a lack of concern about those who may find the former quarterback’s actions offensive.

“I agree that police brutality is bad, but you know, wearing socks that say pigs…” he said, in reference to when Kaepernick wore socks depicting police officers as pigs.

To Kill an American

You probably missed this in the rush of news, but there was actually a report that someone in Pakistan had published in a newspaper, an offer of a reward to anyone who killed an American; any American.

So an Australian dentist wrote an editorial the following day to let everyone know what an American is. So they would know when they found one. (Good one, mate!!!!)

‘An American is English, or French, or Italian, Irish, German, Spanish , Polish, Russian or Greek. An American may also be Canadian, Mexican, African, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Australian, Iranian, Asian, or Arab, or Pakistani or Afghan.

An American may also be a Comanche, Cherokee, Osage, Blackfoot, Navaho, Apache, Seminole or one of the many other tribes known as native Americans.

An American is Christian, or he could be Jewish, or Buddhist, or Muslim. In fact, there are more Muslims in America than in Afghanistan . The only difference is that in America they are free to worship as each of them chooses.

An American is also free to believe in no religion…… For that he will answer only to God, not to the government, or to armed thugs claiming to speak for the government and for God.

An American lives in the most prosperous land in the history of the world.
The root of that prosperity can be found in the Declaration of Independence , which recognizes the God-given right of each person to the pursuit of happiness.

An American is generous. Americans have helped out just about every other nation in the world in their time of need, never asking a thing in return……..

When Afghanistan was overrun by the Soviet army 20 years ago, Americans came with arms and supplies to enable the people to win back their country!

As of the morning of September 11, Americans had given more than any other nation to the poor in Afghanistan ..
The national symbol of America , The Statue of Liberty , welcomes your tired and your poor, the wretched refuse of your teeming shores, the homeless, tempest tossed. These, in fact, are the people who built America .

Some of them were working in the Twin Towers the morning of September 11 , 2001 earning a better life for their families. It’s been told that the World Trade Center victims were from at least 30 different countries, cultures, and first languages, including those that aided and abetted the terrorists.

So you can try to kill an American if you must.. Hitler did. So did General Tojo , and Stalin, and Mao Tse-Tung, and other bloodthirsty tyrants in the world. But, in doing so you would just be killing yourself . Because Americans are not a particular people from a particular place. They are the embodiment of the human spirit of freedom. Everyone who holds to that spirit, everywhere, is an American.
