Marco Rubio shines in a New Hampshire town hall

The Exeter Town Hall was bustling. Hundreds of people were standing and sitting on the balcony waiting for one man, Senator Marco Rubio yesterday. From little kids who won’t be able to vote for a good two elections, to High school and college aged students to young people, parents, the elderly, were sprawled around the small hall.

I arrived a bit late to the party and had to find a good spot from which to see the stage. Behind me was a very enthusiastic young man under thirty who was excitedly shouting and cheering for Marco Rubio thirty minutes before he was to arrive. There were a few people who spoke before Senator Rubio, trying to get the audience rattled up and excited but they spoke about the need for a strong conservative candidate and every time the Senator’s name came up the crowd went wild.  Most people there were already supporters, some were still debating between Rubio and Cruz, and the rest were just there to hear the man out or there for a school assignment.

As Rubio entered the room the crowd went wild, chanting “Marco! Marco!” And not the only time this would happen. It took him a good ten minutes to get up there from the side entrance on the left. First and foremost he introduced his wonderful family, his wife and his four children.

There was at least one Democrat there for sure, who questioned why someone wouldn’t support Sanders and proceeded to leave because she did not like Senator Rubio dousing the audience with a heavy dose of the truth about our soon to be former President. He did not say anything about Donald Trump or his fellow GOP nominees. However he spent a good portion of the evening discussing Obama and the two left-over Democratic stooges, Sanders and Hillary, with shouts of “Hillary for Prison” from an audience member.

“We will beat Hillary Clinton” said Senator Rubio, “And it won’t be by the flip of a coin.”

He did take back his crack about Sanders being the President of Sweden, mostly because as it turns out, a couple of Swedes came up to Rubio after one his previous events and asked, “Why would you do that to us?” Even the Swedes have had it with Socialism and who can blame them? He went after Democratic rhetoric that more taxes  and “more spending is not the answer.”

As such he brought up the point that Sanders and Clinton don’t want to run against him that is why they spend so much time and money attacking him. On the other hand, “I can’t wait to run against Hillary or Sanders” told Rubio. He isn’t afraid of the tough questions or of the opposition.

He spoke a bit more about his family and his childhood in Las Vegas and recounted about how his parents would take him for a drive into the rich neighborhoods of Vegas. One of the houses he clearly remembers seeing was Liberace’s and his parents pointing to the house and basically saying that if he wanted to live in a big house like that he had to work hard to get. They taught him the value of hard work.

There was a lot of words about the armed services and about fighting terror and making sure that he leaves a better America for his children.

When he is elected president the first thing Rubio says he’ll do is “Place my left hand on the bible and my right hand in the air and I will swear an oath to defend the Constitution and unlike Barack Obama I will mean it.” After that Rubio promises to go to the oval office and repeal every single one of Obama’s executive orders. He also mentioned working with the House and Senate to repeal Obamacare. Now there’s a statement. Not just repealing Obamacare, but working with Congress to do it and he can do it too.

Marco Rubio will end federal funding for sanctuary cities and make sure that all Americans are safe, that people who want to be Americans are safe and that Israel knows it has a trusted friend to rely on. He will support our veterans by making sure they can receive their benefits at any hospital and supports our firefighters and policemen. This is a man who respects and appreciates this country.

If Marco Rubio gets the nomination he can win not just our votes as conservatives, but he can get moderates and conservative leaning Democrat votes. Rubio promises to unite the party and bring more people into the conservative movement and grow the party. Just like everything has to grow so must the party.  Rubio breaks the conservative stigma and recognizes the need for freedom and the need to respect the power and the limits of the office he’s going for.

It is time to dump Trump and focus our efforts on the man who can get things done and has a history of standing up to corruption in the Republican party and to Democratic policies that are crippling the nation and the people. Rubio has proven he can compete with the likes of Trump and Cruz. His track record also vouches for the sincerity of his positions. In order to make America strong and to keep it safe and free the only choice for nominee is Marco Rubio.
